They often use the itsme® name, logo, and branding very convincingly, making fraudulent messages sometimes difficult to recognize.
How to protect yourself
itsme® will never ask you by email, text message, phone call, or social media message to:
- Activate your account via a provided link
- Share your bank account details
- Share verification codes, passwords, or PIN codes
- Transfer money or approve a payment
Always verify the sender and any links you receive. Official itsme® actions only take place through:
- The itsme® app
- The official website: www.itsme-id.com
If you need to activate or manage your itsme® account, always start from the app or by directly visiting www.itsme-id.com. Never click on links received through emails, text messages, or messaging apps.
Never share personal, banking, or security information over the phone. If someone claims to represent itsme® and requests sensitive information, end the call immediately.
Use trusted partners only. You can find official itsme® partners through the "Partners" section in the itsme® app.
I received a suspicious message or call. What should I do?
If you receive a suspicious email, SMS, message, or phone call claiming to be from itsme®:
- Do not click any links.
- Do not share personal information or bank details.
- Do not approve any itsme® action that you did not initiate yourself.
- Delete the message or end the call.

Receiving a phishing email, SMS, or suspicious phone call does not mean your itsme® account has been compromised.
