To activate your itsme account, first download the itsme app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Then link your identity information to your itsme account once.

Start in the app

1. Open the itsme app and tap Activate itsme.
2. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
3. Enter your mobile phone number and email address (or select I don't have an email address).
4. Select your country and choose eID and card reader as identification method.
5. An activation code will be displayed on your screen.

Please note: you will need a computer, an eID card reader and your eID card for this.

Continue on the website

1. Open the itsme website on your computer and click My Account > Activate your itsme.
    

   

2. Enter the activation code displayed in the app.
3. To read your eID, you may need to install the Connective browser extension and plugin. Follow the instructions on your screen.
4. Connect your eID card reader, insert your eID card and confirm with your eID PIN code.
5. Complete the identification process on your computer.
6. A QR code will be displayed on your screen.

Finish in the app

1. In the itsme app, tap Scan QR code and scan the QR code shown on your computer screen.
2. Verify your phone number using the SMS code you receive.
3. Choose your personal 5-digit itsme code and confirm it.
4. Optionally, you can activate Face ID, enable notifications and choose whether to share usage data.
5. When you see the message "Your itsme account is now active", tap Go to the app.

You can now use itsme to log in, share data and sign documents digitally.
