With your itsme account, you can easily sign documents digitally. Moreover, an electronic signature via itsme Sign has the same legal value as a handwritten signature!
Follow these steps to sign a document:
1. You receive a signature request
- The organization requiring your signature prepares the document.
- You will receive a notification via email (or another digital service supporting itsme Sign).
Always check the sender before clicking on any links.
2. Open the signature request
- Click on the link in the email or open the website/app of the service provider.
-
Carefully review the document before signing.
3. Choose to sign with itsme
- Select the option to sign the document with itsme.
- You will be redirected to the itsme environment (or directly to the itsme app if you opened the request on your smartphone).
- If this is your first time signing with itsme, a signature certificate will be created and linked to your itsme account.
4. Verify your identity
- Open the itsme app on your smartphone.
- Check the details of the action awaiting your confirmation.
- Then, confirm the action as you usually do in the itsme app.
5. Confirmation and completion
- After a successful verification, your signature will be legally valid.
- You will receive a confirmation, and the signed document will be stored or sent to the service provider.
