Why do I see a message to update my eID details in the itsme app?
This is not phishing. The message you see in the itsme app is a legitimate notification from us. We only show this banner to users whose eID is close to expiry or already expired.
To keep your itsme account secure, your identity details must be up to date. If your eID has (almost) expired, you’ll need to update these details.
⚠️ Note: Emails, text messages or other notifications asking you to update your details do not come from us. We only communicate this via the app.
How can I update my eID details?
You can update your eID details:
I already updated my details, but the message won’t go away. What now?
Sometimes the banner may remain visible for a short while after a successful update. Try the following:
- Fully close and reopen the itsme app
- Check if your personal details in the app are correct
- Make sure your eID is still valid
Are the card number and expiry date correct? Then you can safely ignore the message.
I don’t have a card reader or need help?
