Do you have a new eID card?
You can now update your eID card details directly in the itsme app using NFC technology. No card reader, computer, bank visit or CASH point needed.
What do I need?
- The latest version of the itsme app (minimum version 4.25.2)
- A smartphone with NFC (Near Field Communication)
- Your eID card
How does it work?
- Open the itsme app and go to My account > My identity.
- Select Update my details.
- Scan the structured code on the eID card.
- Hold your eID card against the back of your smartphone (NFC zone).
- The app will read your card and update your details immediately.
Is it safe?
Yes, the connection is fully secure and complies with all legal requirements. Your data is never shared with third parties.
What if my phone doesn’t have NFC?
You can still use the existing methods (card reader, bank, CASH point).
Please note:
- The address is not transferred via NFC technology, so if you wish to change your address, you will need to do so via our website or a Bancontact CASH point.
- A name change is not transferred via NFC, you will need to do so via our website or a Bancontact CASH point.
