More and more partner websites are switching to a new and more secure way of logging in with itsme.
Because of this update, the option to enter your phone number on desktop is gradually being removed.
Why is this option disappearing?
This change is part of a broader security improvement:
- The older login method using a phone number is being replaced by QR‑code login.
- Logging in with a QR code is more secure, faster, and less vulnerable to phishing.
- Not all partners will switch at the same time, so you might still see differences between websites.
What does this mean for you?
- On some websites, you will no longer see the option Phone number.
- You will be able to log in only by scanning the QR code with the itsme app.
- Other partners may temporarily still offer both options, but they will eventually migrate to QR‑only as well.
What do we recommend?
We recommend always logging in using the QR code.
It is the fastest, easiest and safest way to authenticate.
