Why do I see this error message when trying to log in with itsme?
This error appears when the identity document linked to your itsme account is expired.
Because of this, you can no longer log in to websites such as My Citizen Profile, Helena, or other Flemish government services.

How do I fix this?
You need to update your itsme information using your valid eID card.
You can easily do this via NFC in the itsme app.
What do you need?
- A smartphone with NFC
- Your eID card
How does it work?
- Open the itsme app
- Go to My account → My data → My identity document
- Select Data no longer up‑to‑date? Learn more
- Scan the structured code on your eID card
- Hold your eID against the back of your phone (NFC zone)
- The app reads your card and updates your information automatically
What if my smartphone doesn't have NFC?
Then you can update your information via:
- the itsme website, or
- a Bancontact CASH‑point
